Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch dies at 47
MCA (Adam Yauch) passed away last weekend. We, Toazted, feel very sorry for this loss. MCA was a Beastie Boys member, an activist, a filmaker and most of all; a great rapper. He was fighting a battle against cancer and unfortunately passed away at the age of 47. Rest In Peace.

Today, we have been told the sad news that one of the greatest men in one of the greatest hip-hop outfits has sadly passed away at age 47. Adam Yauch was suffering from throat cancer since 2009, but still kept going on with the making music, including the incredibly underrated Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. Yauch will be remembered for his deep voice on the tracks, played bass on almost every track that required it and even co-wrote some of the best lyrics in the hip-hop world.

It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam "MCA" Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old.
